We’ve travelled quite a bit over the last few days, and have once again been emerged into a fascinating culture with a whole new (awful) history, diet and culture to learn about.

16th Oct – After Ninh Binh we travelled further North to Halong Bay, a coastal town in the North of Vietnam. We hopped onto a large touristy ‘junk’ boat (that felt like a floating 5* hotel!) that took us out and about for the day and night to the limestone monolithic islands which pop up everywhere in the sea. We visited a large grotto (found by the French) full of stalagtites and stalagmites, and got the chance to Kayak through caves (much like on ‘The Beach’) and jump off the boat and swim. We felt really spoilt and enjoyed every minute of it! It was all so beautiful, and the food was great too (again!)
