Today we got up to start a 2 day – 1 night cruise in Ha Long Bay. We got picked up around 0830 and drove for 3.5hrs before reaching Ha Long City. At the harbour you can clearly see that this is a tourist boom place. There are sooo many boats lying there, and it’s weird to imagine that all of them actually get work.

Our boat is suppose to be a deluxe boat, I don’t want to think about what a standard boat looks like. Our cabin isn’t quite the best. It probobly would have been much better if it hadn’t been a strong smell of mildue and old in our cabin. And it’s not very tempting to have a shower tomorrow morning.

I must say Ha Long Bay is really beautiful. We were unlucky with the weather, rain and fog. It must be amazing here when it’s nice weather. Our first stop was a kayak tour which we skipped because we didn’t bring any rainy clothes. And it was only 30 minutes. After we went to a cave called the surprise cave. It was huge and very nice looking. A lot of stalagmites and stagamites. The strange thing is that the cave was first found in 1993 by some French people, I’m not sure if I believe that. I’m sure that the local people have know that it’s there for multiple years.

After we went back to the boat they guys jumped into the water and had a swim. Then we relaxed until dinner. Dinner was good and I became tired at 2000, and was asleep before 2100.
So far the trip haven’t been Really good, I’m sure it’s mostly about the weather. But I can’t really say that our guide is doing a good job either, she only tells us the most necessary and nothing more. And the staff onboard hasn’t done an exeptionary job either. Sad that it’s Ha Long Bay that sells itself and not the boat.
