Ha Long Bay - a lifetime must-go destination

Ha Long Bay has been selected as one of “100 trips you must take in your lifetime” by the US magazine Business Insider.

The magazine suggested visitors spend a night on junk boat in the bay amid a multitude of limestone islands and islets rising from the sea, in a variety of sizes and shapes and presenting picturesque, unspoiled nature.
 
 
Also on the list are trips of hiking along the unrestored section ofthe Great Wall of China, attending a cherry blossom festival in Japan and driving a classic car in Havana, Cuba, etc.
 
 
Earlier, USA Boredpanda Magazine included this heritage site in the list of “41 places to see before you die”. Boredpanda said that Ha Long Bay is one of the world’s natural wonders, and is the most beautiful tourist destination of Vietnam. Ha Long Bay features more than one thousand awesome limestone karsts and islands of various sizes and shapes along the 120-km coastline of Bai Chay Beach. Its waters are host to a great diversity of ecosystems including offshore coral reefs, freshwater swamp forests, mangrove forests, small freshwater lakes, and sandy beaches.
 
Ha Long Bay has been twice recognized as the World Natural Heritage by UNESCO. It was also voted as one of the world’s seven New Wonders of Nature by the New7Wonder Foundation in 2012.
 
According to the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the bay welcomes 2.5 million tourists each year, including 1 million foreign visitors. The province is now doing its utmost to preserve and develop the unique value of this world heritage site./.
