Addressing the ceremony, State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan asked the fisheries sector to modernise aquatic farming and seafood processing technology, effectively exploit aquatic resources and protect the country’s territorial waters.
On behalf of the State, Ms Doan presented the Independence Order, third class, to the Cat Ba island district Party Committee.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also conferred its Certificate of Merit on 25 collectives and 25 individuals in the fisheries sector in recognition of their outstanding achievements in exemplary role model movements in 2008.
